Happy Thanksgiving 2023- a letter from Melissa

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours! Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays. Being with family is wonderful and I also love the parade and dog show. But the best part is that gratitude is something that I feel drawn to practice all of the time and my sappy thoughts of thanks feel a little more socially acceptable today.
When my family started Latched Mama nine years ago, it was just Eric, myself, and our two young boys. Honestly, the journey to where we are now is a bit of a sleepless blur. There are eight of us now (nine this year if you count our beloved au pair Paul). The ups and downs of growing a brand while raising young kids has taught me a great deal about perseverance, but nothing quite prepared me for the personal growth that was needed to navigate the past year.
Between a constantly changing supply chain, troubled-ish economy, and various online marketing changes, this year we have faced some significant challenges. But through it all, my gratitude hasn’t wavered. 2023 saw the building of fabulous new relationships, a brand-new website, and many beloved “warehouse babies” entered the world. Even on the hard days, walking through the warehouse– watching moms connect and help each other–I was always reminded of why Latched Mama exists. As human beings, we need connection and support. And as mothers, we need it even more. It was very shortly after I started the brand in 2014 that I realized that our clothing could be the catalyst to build community.
So, this year, like all the past years, I’m most thankful for the amazing village that is being built within the walls of our warehouse as well as across our social media channels. I’m thankful for the connections that are being made and the support and laughter being shared. Thank you for believing in me and the brand. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to use my voice to hopefully make motherhood easier and more fulfilling for us all. Even after a tough year, I still feel like the luckiest mom and business owner in the entire world, and that is in part thanks to you all. Happy Thanksgiving! Much love from our family to yours.
XOXO,
Melissa, Eric, Nathan, Alexander, Caroline, Benjamin, Katherine, Matthew, and Paul
